A Language Built to Last Centuries

New terms must be built from existing roots and be transparent to a twelve-year-old. A coinage is submitted with its root breakdown, its IPA and its Sethun spelling.

Legal coinages require a worked example of a case they would decide. A term without a case attached expires after one year.

Discoveries are named for what they do, never for who found them; the finder's name is recorded in the second line of the entry. Inventions carry the maker's mark in the signature line — credit lives in the record, not in the word.

A personal name is given-root + house-root + earned-root, the last granted at mastery. Places are named landscape-first: Skardun-Mont, the pass of the House.

Records carry the evidence particle of the strongest available source. When no living witness remains, the entry is rewritten with hor (recorded), so the record states the strength of its own evidence.

Borrowing is permitted only for proper nouns. Everything else is compounded from the existing 30 letters and root stock, so that a text written today remains readable in five hundred years without a glossary.
